I am getting ready to go finish up some little stuff around the boat this morning, load up the old girl with tackle and head for home..... Last post from the yard

This is my last fishing report without there being any fishing involved. I will be leaving the dreaded boatyard on Thursday and head back to Pirates cove. We have a few odds and ends to tie up but we are outta here soon. On the fishing front, things are starting to turn on. Looks like I will get going at the right time. Going Fishin' soon

Just to give a heads up to everyone, we willbegin running trips aboard the Sea Hunter as of the first of June. I am almost done with the boatwork and ready to fish. Crunch Time

The summer fishing season is just a few days away and we are almost done with the "overhaul" the Sea Hunter has undergone. I am off to the boatyard after this post to get to work. It has taken alot more time than expected but will be well worth the effort. On the fishing front, the bluefishing around the inlet has been steady and there has been a good showing of catch and release Striper fishing at Mann's Harbor. The deep drop bottom fishing has been good for tilefish and seabass when the guys could get there. The weather has not been the best. As the water warms up the Spanish Mackerel , Cobia, and Drum should start making a showing. I will be going soon so give me a call to get a spot for some great summer fishing.

Getting Closer

We have been working some long hours to get the Sea Hunter back fishing and will be done soon. On the fishing front last week there was good action for bluefish around the inlet and good bottom fishing for tilefish and sea bass on the days the fleet could get out due to the weather. Offshore I heard of good catches of Dolphin with Tunas and Wahoos mixed in. There have also been some Blue marlin. As of this writing, if all goes as planned, we will be running by the 26 of May. WIND

Well folks, all I can say is hold on to your hat cause she's a blowin'. The last couple of days it has been a steady 30-35 with periods of 50 or more.We are forecast to get this for a couple more days. Needless to say nothing is going on here. We are still in the yard trying to get done and get ready for a busy summer. It will take a day or two for things to get straight after this gale but look for good fishing soon. From the looks of it we haven't really missed alot and will be ready at the right time. Sorry about no pics. I will have some up soon.........Thanks, Capt. George 252-312-7858

Back online

Well folks, sorry for the long time between posts. We had a nasty computer virus that has had me shut down for a while but hopefully it is fixed now. The boat is still in the yard but we should be up and running in a couple of weeks. It has been a slow go of it but that's boatwork. As for the fishing things are starting to pick up from what I have heard, but I really have been out of the loop. In a couple of weeks with the help of good weather and warmer water temps things should bust wide open. The end of the month through mid july is prime COBIA time so give me a call to get rigged up 252-312-7858 ........Capt. George
