Half day trips... July 26- 30

We have had a bunch of half day trips the last few days with pretty good luck. The bluefishing and spanish mackerel fishing, as well as the bottom fishing has been consistently good. Off the beach, the boys on the full day trips have been catching tilefish and dolphin and an occasional tuna and wahoo. Here are a few pics from the past few days..... George

July 25 all day trip

We finally got a break in the weather and had calm seas for Jerry Audy and the crew from Connecticut. We headed off the beach to go deep dropping for tile fish and then some trolling for whatever. Well, we came across a nice change with some grass on it and decided to give it a try. The dolphin were there and hungry, even the big one that got away. We ended up spending the morning there catching 30 or so. The bottom fishing was a little on the slow side for us and after catching a half dozen tiles, we put the trolling gear out. We ended the day with a nice tuna and a couple more dolphin with one being a nice gaffer. A great day all in all. Thanks guys see you soon!!!!!! George

July 16-19 report

Things have been up an down this week for the crews fishing. The blues and spanish fishing has been everywhere from great to sorry, depending on your location up and down the beach. We were lucky some days, having a good catch and not so much others... but that's fishin' folks. There have been some big red drum caught the last few days and we were in the right place today, catching and releasing several. There are a few cobia still around. The all day trips have been filled with tilefish, and some dolphin as well. We still have some days open in the coming weeks so give us a call 252-312-7858 to get rigged up... George

July 13 report

Friday the 13 trip with Shane Norryce and crew from Sc. Shane's dad wanted a cobia and something big. There had been a few seen so off we went. The bait was thicker than hair on a cat's back but we had trouble at first getting bites. We worked offshore and got on a sulfur slick change. after about five minutes we had our first bite. A nice 15 lb. gaffer dolphin was in the box!!! We got set back out and had another on but pulled the hook. WE worked the line for a few miles and no more bites......until....I saw a nice cobia on the line. We circled back around to see if we could get back on him and there he was!!! One throw is all it took and we were hooked up!! The end result was a nice 30 pounder!!!!!! Great work everyone. Not many bites but quality ones..... and slick calm. See you guys later this fall. George

July 12 trips

Had a couple of half days today. In the AM , we had Bill Hodsen and crew from "Surprising Suffolk". We decided to try our luck bu the beach for the Blues and Spanish instead of the kings. There was still alot of chop and swell out there and the ladies wanted a nice ride. We caught a few blues and a spanish but it was far from hot and heavy...... Thanks folks we will get em' next time!!!!

Dave Daniel and bride had us for the afternoon. We were off to Manns Harbor to catch and release rock on live bait. WE had a great afternoon releasing 25 or more fish up to 6 lbs!!! The rockfish were very healthy and fat, with no sores or lesions on them, which is common this time of year. Hopefully that is a good sign of things to come in the fall during the keeper season!!! WE had a great time with you, see you again....... George

July 11... Rock-n-Roll !!!!!

Well, yesterday was sloppy. Today it was flat out rough. The wind was going one way and the current the other, creating a washing machine. Kassi Nylund's crew of "Vikings" stood the test like pros. We went to where we were the day before and rock-n-rolled our way to a good catch of kings and spanish. We also had a throwback Cobia... good to see them start to show again. Good fishing guys, see you later in the year....... George

July 10 trips

Had a couple of half days today and decided to head out to look for the kings. In the morning we had Randy Birchell and crew. There was a steady pick most of the morning with keeper and throwback kings and spanish landed. There were a couple of cobia caught as well in the fleet. The afternoon brought gusty winds , but Ryan Klug and crew were ready. We headed back out and had good action again with the kings and spanish... and it was sloppy!!! Thanks again guys, see you soon.

WINDY July 5 pm trip

By the afternoon it was really blowin' but Stuart Browning's crew was ready to go. We opted to stay in the calmer sound and see what was biting. The trolling bite was a no go, so we threw the hook and went bottom fishing. The tide was slow at first and so was the fishin'. When the tide picked up, the fish started biting... Sam and Em stayed busy with blues, flounder, sea mullett, pinfish, and a couple BIG Stingrays!!! We will go for the BIG FISH next time Em!! See you soon..... George

July 5 am trip

Off this morning with Karl Elcenko and crew. We headed to the inlet to try the blues and spanish. It was a little slow there so we headed out to find something else. There was a change off the beach so we fished on it and had some throwback kings and a couple of dolphin. The wind really picked up near the end of the trip but it was a fair morning anyway...Thanks guys give me a call later this year!!! George

Fourth of July!!!

Happy Fourth to all!!!!!! Roger and Katie Collins were our guests on the morning trip.... Katie wanted a big fish so we went off the beach a ways to look around. We had a few bites and caught a nice albacore and some small silver bullets. Katie fought a nice dolphin like a pro for about 15 minutes and had him beat when 20 foot from the boat he just let go and swam off!!! That' Fishin!!! Thanks for the great morning guys.... Keep in touch. .....George

July 3 all day trip

Trey Tuggle and crew joined us today for an all day trip. The forecast was east 5-10 and ended up being NE 15-20 so we were a bit surprised. We headed to the east and did some amberjack jigging before putting the trolling gear out. The boys caught a nice barracuda and several jacks. On the troll we had some kings and Dolphin, saw a couple of big sharks and the surprise of the day, a white marlin free jumping right beside the boat. You never know what you might see out there!!! Thanks again guys.... See you soon .... George
