Fishing has been steady with good catches of Bluefish and a few Spanish Mackerel inshore. Off the beach has been spotty at best. The bait is there but fish are scattered out. A predominant SW wind has made it tough for all of us. Offshore the fishing has been getting better with scattered wahoo and good Dolphin fishing. The tunas have been around the past week and the Marlin bite is getting going. We have a few spots open the next couple of weeks so give us a call 252-312-7858 to get rigged up!!!!! Capt. George

We have been staying busy with catches of Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel... Flounder and scattered Bottomfish. There has been some Cobia seen as well as Drum and Amberjack. When the winds have been good the deep dropping and Dolphin bite has been good also. Offshore the Billfishing has picked up as well as Tunas and excellent gaffer Dolphin fishing. Wow!!!! Is all I can say. We have had a great start to the summer with some awesome weather and fishing. The Fish Gods were shining on us all week with great catches of Blues and Mackerel........ and several COBIA. Winter Time Fishing

WE hope everyone is having a great holiday season and the winter chill has not got to you!! The fishing up and down the beach from Oregon Inlet up to Corolla has been pretty good on the days where the weather has not kept boats at the dock. Stripers from 15 to 30 pounds have been the catch. They are inside the three mile line one day...... where you can keep them... and outside the line on others where catch and release is what you have to do. Due to the nature of the fishing we are running Full Day trips only for $1100 plus tip for the mate. Give us a call @ 252-312-7858 if you want to get in on the action in the next few weeks.

Wow it is hard to believe that half of June is gone!!!!! We have been busy and the fishing has been good. Inshore we have had catches of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Flounder, assorted Bottomfish and Cobia. Offshore the Dolphin Fishing has been great but the ride has been a long one. Well, after a few days of NE winds it finally fell out and got nice. The Waddell crew from down in Atlanta Ga. came with us this afternoon to do some fishing in the sound. We had a great time and caught Bluefish, Mackerel, Spot, Croaker, Flounder and Sea Mullett. The Kids did Great and were ready to go again the next day!!!! Thanks so much you guys...... Yesterday there were several Cobia seen around the Rodanthe area with alot more to come. These fish have spent the last couple of weeks down the way waiting for the water to warm up. Now they are on the move. The next few weeks should be great. There has been great bluefish and Spanish Mackerel fishing as well. We had Steve Gadd and crew this morning off for a half day trip. Although the water temps seem to be holding on the low side, we had good fishing. The Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel were around the inlet as well as a few Boston Mackerel. Thanks for the trip guys.... see you next time. George

Fishing this week picked up around the inlet with good catches of Bluefish, Flounder and assorted bottomfish. Offshore the action has been steady with catches of Yellowfin and Bluefin tuna with scattered dolphin and Wahoo in the mix. The Cobia fishing has been steady down the road in the Buxton -- Hatteras area. We hope the water warms up soon to get the fish closer but you have to go where they are!! There was a good report of Cobia down in the Hilton Head region as well........ So..... The fishing is gettin good.. Time to go!!! Friday COBIA BITE ........EPIC

Friday May 7 2010 will probably go down as the BEST day of COBIA fishing the Outer Banks has EVER seen!!!!! I do not know the numbers but they were staggering. Some boats had 30 ++ fish upwards of 65- 70 fish on one boat. If you want to go Cobia Fishing the time is here and now!!!We may never see another day like this one but if we do I hope I am there and not sitting here. All of the action is south down in the hook around the Buxton area with cold water all the way back up to Nags Head. I heard of fish being caught all the way to Wilmington, so there is a huge wad of fish down south!!! If you want to get in on this action and take the full day trip down there call me ........ The latest report is that the Cobia have made a good showing down south the past couple of days. The fish are down from Buxton southwards and should be around for a while. As soon as the warm water rounds the corner they will be on the way up the beach. Well here it is folks...... WIND and lots of it the past week and a half. We have had a few trips in that time but it was slow fishing. There had been reports of some fish around the inlet but with the unrelenting wind we have had things have stayed slow for everyone inshore.... There are some fish down from us a bit, and I really think things are gonna bust wide open soon for everyone. Offshore has still been productive with catches of Bluefin Tuna with scattered yellowfin and Bigeye tunas in the mix. The next couple of weeks should start being more productive for everyone...... The past week and a half has been a typical spring. Warm a couple days..... cool a couple days. The fishing down towards Hatteras has been pretty consistent both from the beach and by boat. Up our way, things are starting to happen, but it is a little on the slow side. There have been reports of scattered Bluefish in the Inlet and back in the sound, and some bottom fish around as well. The next couple of weeks things will start to really get going as the water temps rise and the fish work our way. Off the beach, Tuna are around, you just need to be in the right place at the right time. The Dolphin fishing is right around the corner..... all in all GET READY!!!! We have been waiting for a good report of some fish around the inlet and sound. I have heard reports of a nice class of Bluefish around the Inlet and back in the sound where the warm water is. Down south the Drum bite has been off the hook for the last week or so. Offshore, Bluefin Tuna fishing has been steady with yellowfins in the mix. The gaffer Dolphin fishing should get going in a few weeks. All in all things are getting ready to bust wide open. With the warmer days and nights happening now, water temps are on the rise and fishing will get better and better. After a long cold and wet winter it is time to get in gear and go fishing. Things around the outer banks are starting to pick up, including the fishing. Offshore has been good when you could find the water with bluefin and yellowfin action. Look for it to pick up in weeks to come. Inshore the water temps need to start coming up to get things going. Brian and Thomas McAndrews out again and this time BRIAN has the BIGGEST FISH!!! He caught his first Cobia!!!! A 55 lb. citation. In the Spring this fish would have easily gone 75 pounds or better. They also had all the Albacore action they could stand!!!

WE had the pleasure of having the Osborne family on board for a weekend of Fishing action. Saturday we stayed close to the beach and had a mixed bag of Triggers, Mackerel, Blues, and Sea Mullet. Sunday we headed off the beach on another beautiful day and had success again!!! WE hauled in a 78 pound yellowfin and caught add tie Jacks the could stand.... and oh yea Lesslie caught her first Cobia too!!!!! The sound waters behind the inlet have held good numbers of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish for all our trips. this is some great light tackle action... and some Great Eating!!! Charlie Crabtree and family were off with us again this afternoon looking to get some meat in the box. As soon as we set out it was on... Great Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish action. After an hour or so it was off to find the big one!! Conditions were not optimal ,and there was cold water both up and down the beach, but we put our time in. We ended up hooking a 50# cobia but she ended up winning and pulled the hook.... can't catch em' all. Thanks you guys.... we always enjoy having you and look forward to next year..... Capt. George

Since my last posting we have been on a steady SLOW pace to get the old girl back to fishing status. For a while there it seemed like every other day was rainy, cold and windy putting us behind schedule. Now it has turned off hot and dusty, but we are getting it done!! Hope to be back in the water by the middle of next week and ready to go by Mother's Day weekend... as long as the weather holds and the shipyard gods are with us..

On the fishing front.... cold water is still on the beach but a warm up is expected, especially with the hot temps...... off the beach if you find the warm water you have a shot at tunas and dolphin and some Bluefin as well.. I have not had a bottom fishing report but they are there... you just have to find them. All in all it is starting to shape up .... you just have to get out there.... G

Wow, what a long winter it was but we are out of hibernation and giving the old Sea Hunter spring maintenance. WE are replacing the cockpit floor and various other odds and ends. You can clearly see we have our work cut out for us. Spring and Summer fishing is around the corner so get ready!!! WE should be up and running early May if all holds good. With the cold weather finally in place, there is starting to be a good influx of bait, birds, and YES Big ROCK starting to be picked up by boats fishing from the upper Nags Head Area to the North. Big Bluefish have been hooked up as well. It should only get better in the coming weeks with the best of it being from after Christmas till late Janurary. THe fishing continues to be good off of the back of the Sea Hunter with catches of blues, spanish, cobia , Tilefish and assorted bottom fish inside as well. Summer is drawing to a close but the fishing is getting better and better. We have openings the next few weeks, so give us a call and get in on the action... Capt. George 252-312-7858

The past week has been very productive at the stern of the SEA HUNTER, with parties bringing in good catches. Spanish Mackerel, kings and Bluefish were the majority of the catches ,as well as sharks and some Red Drum as well!!! Cobias are still being seen in on the beach and the tilefish bite has been productive off the beach. Offshore there has been good numbers of sailfish seen and caught as well as decent dolphin fishing.

I Caught a Keeper This Week

Last weeks fishing was real good all around with a good catch of mackerel, blues, a few cobia, and some kings. Offshore reported pretty good fishing as well with billfish really starting to show. However, the Seahunter stayed at the dock this week but still managed to have one great catch!

Allow me to introduce the newest member of my family - Briley Elizabeth Munden. She was born Mon. July 21 and weighed in at 7lbs 14 oz. Her fork length was 19 and 1/2 inches and she is truly a citation. Thanks to everyone for all of your support and well wishes. We will be back at it Monday morning... George

This afternoon we had the boys from Pasedena, MD out looking for "THE BIG ONES". As LUCK would have it we were rewarded with a school of Red Drum all to ourselves. It doesn't happen often but if you are in the right place at the right time it is an awesome sight. WE hit them three times and ended up catching and releasing 15 nice ones. WE ended the day catching 12 or so sharks as well which were also released!!!! AWESOME>>>>> thanks guys, talk to you soon... G

WE had the Winslow Family form just up the road in Hertford, NC for the morning. Despite some rain showers the fishing was top notch with a good bite of Spanish Mackerel!!!! Great job guys, see you round' town... George
